ISLAMABAD: A Chinese delegation from Sinochem Agro called on the federal minister for textile industry Abbas Khan Afridi.
The delegation briefed the minister about their services that may result in increased cotton production in Pakistan. The company claimed that their products will result in 20% increase in cotton yield. Sinochem is a Chinese business giant having sixty two years of experience in fertilizers, seeds, pesticides and agronomic services.

The federal minister stated that his ministry is committed to excellence and they will support every effort towards increase in cotton production and value addition in textile sector. Research and investment in cotton will be facilitated. He assured the delegates that the ministry will facilitate every endeavour towards increase in cotton production and better quality.

A collaboration project with the Sinochem is in the pipeline. The Chinese company will be given several sites for experimentation purposes. The project will include experiments on cotton plant to increase yield, trainings to the Pakistani scientists and technical assistance in field irrigation and management.
